Geshe Lobsang Negi explaining the closing ceremony
After 8 days of creating the mandala, the sand is swept up and given away to participants of the closing ceremony.  The remainder is then put in a river so the blessings may flow to the
whole world.
DAY 5
The intention of the sand mandala is to bring peace and balance to the world and the environment.
