As a group project, students divided into teams to create a 36" wooden mandala.
They painted nearly 200 small balsa wood shapes and 4 large discs with acrylic paints. Each student then glued their pieces and glass stones onto the discs.
After it was completed, students voted on the name for this mandala.
Students created their own mandala with only
a circle, a square, and a ruler, then filled in with colored pencils.
Each student designed their own mandala using balsa wood shapes.
First, the cardboard pallettes used for the group mandala were painted as the backgrounds. The students designed the formation of balsa wood shapes, painted them with acrylics, and glued them to their backgrounds.
